Campbell-Christie House is a historic home constructed in April 1774 in what was then Hackensack Township on the east side of the Hackensack River that was moved in its entirety in 1977 from New Milford

Steuben House was used by George Washington as his headquarters for 16 days in September 1780.

River Edge is known as a great place to raise a family and offers access to numerous parks and ball fields including:

Van Saun County Park covers 146 acres in River Edge and Paramus. There’s a train ride, zoo, carousel, pony rides, playground, dog park, baseball fields, some walking paths, and Walden Pond.

Veterans Memorial Park - located on Continental Avenue has a playground, a ball court/roller hockey rink, and a baseball field.

Brookside Park - located on Greenway Terrace that has a walking path, playground, and a basketball court.

River Edge Bird Sanctuary and Nature Trail - located on the River Edge/Paramus border, this park has a bird sanctuary and a walking nature trail. It is located behind The Shoppes on IV shopping center in Paramus.

Kenneth B. George Park located at the end of Riverside Way (next to the River Edge Swim Club), includes a lighted Softball Field, Baseball Field, bathrooms, and concession stand for the use of River Edge Recreation sponsored adult and youth athletic leagues.

If parks and zoos are not your thing, not to worry, The River Edge Cultural Center, a not-for-profit Museum/Cultural Center that was founded in 1995 by a small group of dedicated volunteers, provides River Edge, as well as Bergen County, with 15 to 20 FREE programs yearly. 

The Center has sponsored Summer Concerts under the Stars, West Point Concerts, Art Exhibits, Historical Displays, Children's Art Classes, Traveling Exhibits, Student Art Exhibitions, Lectures, Hands-on Workshops, Culinary Classes, Multi-Cultural Events to name a few.
